A few months ago we were invited to participate in a new initiative called Green Tourism through a series of workshops kicking off at the life Adventure Centre in Castlewellan.
The initiative invites businesses to review how they operate and suggests more eco friendly means of operation, the programme assesses various elements of the business in terms of its environmental impact and suggests ways to become more mindful of water usage, electricity, recycling to name a few.
After a few assessments The Hutt Hostel has met the criteria to receive a bronze award in Green Tourism which we received at an awards dinner on Wednesday night at The Cuin in Strangford!
We had a fabulous evening meeting other businesses and would highly recommend The Cuin as a must visit in Strangford for dinner.
Look out for our Green Tourism plaque outside our front doors. coming soon!
